    Group visits

    Primary and secondary schools

School groups can have a guided tour of the museum located in the Yser Tower. We aim to provide a customised visit, adapted to the year and level of the pupils. During the guided tour, pupils will find out about the history of the First World War in the Westhoek and its terrible consequences. This is used as a starting point to think together about ideas such as peace, freedom and tolerance.

    Reservation form.

    Higher education

The Yser heritage site includes three monuments, the first Yser Tower, which was blown up with dynamite, the Pax Gate and the new Yser Tower. The latter houses a museum on 22 floors exploring the Belgian-German front during the First World War and the history of the site itself. A guide will give your group a customised tour, with appropriate and balanced explanations of the – often sensitive – topics that the museum addresses.

    Adults

Visit the Museum on the Yser with your group and benefit from our attractive prices. The group rate is €9 per person and includes admission and a guided tour lasting one and a half to two hours. For €10 per person, we also offer a cup of coffee and a regional speciality cookie upon arrival. Would you like us to spoil you? For €13 per person, you can enjoy a Diksmuidse IJzerbol – a cream-filled doughnut, our local speciality – with your welcoming coffee. The offers apply to groups of 20 or more paying guests.
