How to find us

By car or coach
Coming from the centre of the country follow the E40 motorway Gent-Brugge  and next the A10 from Brugge to Duinkerken, exit Middelkerke-Diksmuide, and the N369 to Diksmuide, next the N35 direction Veurne and Nieuwpoort.
Coming from South-West Flanders, take the E403 motorway, exit Lichtervelde, follow the N35 to Diksmuide. From Ieper it is possible to drive directly to Diksmuide on the N369. Next follow the N35 direction Veurne and Nieuwpoort.
At the Hoge Brug (bridge over the Yser) turn left (coming from the centre of town) or right (coming from the direction of Nieuwpoort and Veurne) at the IJzerdijk.
Turn right 100 meters further.

Parking
There is a spacious car parking within walking distance of the domain of the museum.
The coach parking is located on the domain itself (with one-way system to allow easy departure). “P-autocars” is the sign to follow.
 

Public transport

From the centre of the country take the train direction De Panne (line Gent-De Panne) to the station of Diksmuide. The Museum at the Yser is within walking distance (just under 1 mile) of the station.
A nice route between the station and the museum is the one of 1 mile along the Yser, the Handzamevaart [Handzame canal], the Begijnhof [Beguinage], the Grote Markt [Market Square] and the Manneke uit de Mane [Man in the Moon].
 

Accessibility

Wheelchair users
The Museum at the Yser is easily accessible, also for wheelchair users (7 lift stops, also in the Panorama Room, where low windows give an excellent view of the fields of Flanders).
There is a special discount for both the wheelchair user and his/her companion (€ 4 instead of € 8).
There are benches on the various levels.
On the ground floor there is an adapted toilet.

Visitors with an auditive impairment
There are informative texts, all movie fragments are subtitled.

Visitors with a visual impairment
Guide dogs are welcome in the museum.
A general explanation in Braille is available next to the reception.

Tickets

Tickets are bought at the reception desk, where they are paid for. Credit and debit cards can be used. If you require an invoice, a flat administration fee of 12 euro is charged.
